Dear Sailors, Rowers and Canoeists, I feel immense pleasure In welcoming you to our website which besides giving general information about our federation will keep you up to date on all aspects of what is happening In the world of sailing and rowing in Qatar.

The Qatar Sailing & Rowing Federation was formed on May 10, 2003 in accordance with the directives issued by HH Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Heir Apparent and President of Qatar National Olympic Committee. Since the inception of the QSRF, we are striving hard to achieve the goals and objectives set by the founders of this federation.

WE organize Sail the Gulf and Gulf Trophy on regular basis with addition of Canoe-Kayak we will have more national and International events each year.

I am privileged to invite you to participate in the forthcoming sailing and rowing competitions to be organized by the federation, details of which can been accessed through this website.

I also take this opportunity to invite those who are interested to learn more about the sailing and rowing. We welcome aspirant sailors, rowers and canoeists/paddlers to visit us and benefit from excellent facilities and technical expertise available with us. We will make every endeavor to support and patronize all those who will excel in sailing and rowing and help them in becoming sailors and rowers of international repute.

May I thank all those individuals and government organizations who have always stood by us and have rendered required support in organizing various competitions.

Who We Are

We are Doha Sailing Club exist to promote sailing activities.The Club affiliated with ISAF,RYA,ILCA International 470,Laser,Optimist Class Associations. Also, Asian Sailing Federation, Ara Sailing Federation and Qatar Sailing & Rowing Federation (QSRF).

QSRF:

Qatar Sailing & Rowing Federation (QSRF) was formed in May 2003. The main aim of the Federation was to ensure implementation of Olympic Charter and promotion of sports of Sailing & Rowing in the State of Qatar. The QSRF receives an annual grant from Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC). QOC is also responsible to provide funds for training of all athletes & the expenses of participation of Qatar National Teams at National and International Level.

Doha Sailing Club and the QSRF is controlled by an Executive Committee under the President ship of Mr. Khalifa Mohd Al Sewaidi. QSRF conduct its all activities from the platform of Doha Sailing Club (DSC). DSC is a private club having 250 members. All residents of

Doha including expats and visiting individuals can become the members.

DSC & QSRF have all facilities for sailing & Rowing; coaching with various types of boats. Following boats are available.

DSC & QSRF have full time Coaches and many part time coaches who take classes for the beginners. A very cordial atmosphere exists in the premises.

We organize regular National & International Events. Sail the Gulf, Gulf Trophy and Match Racing are 3 major events which are conducted every year and attended with great enthusiasm by all International Sailors.

DSC & QSRF believes in social activities. A number of functions, get together and social evenings are organized throughout the year.
