Defention of SPORTSMANSHIP:
Or SPORTSPERSONSHIP is an aspiration or ethos that a sport or activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consieration for fairness, ethics, respect, and sense of fellowship with one's competitors.
The 470 is an Olympic Class dinghy and the crew uses a trapezze, trims the jib and flies the spinnaker. We race every Saturdays from 1400hrs.
The 470 fleet would like to hear from members who wish to crew in racing.
Please note that all Mainsails used by competitors must display a unique sail number.
Dear all members who have been trained to use the safety RIB are kindly asked to volunteer for safety RIB duty. Please chose a date from the Summer Series race calendar on notice board and write your name and phone.
Personal Sailing Principles
Develop your own Tactical game plan for any race with this simple method. the method takes basic tactical Principles and uses them as a tool for making decisions during the race.
Sailing Principles will make the decision making process easier and stress free, and will be a lot quicker for any situation.
Remember that after the decision is made stick to it and if it was worng one do not fret, LEARN. Because of all the variables in sailing challenges and decision making ability, it is impossible to sail the perfect race. You will make mistakes, probably more than one or two. The goal is to make as few as possible and hopefully to make less that your competitors. ( by Michael Hobson)
Racing rules are important to achieving quality racing at DSC. It is up to all competitors to learn the rules and there are many web based resources that make this a simple task. Part of the post-race fun is to think about what you did right and learn about what you did wrong . . . !
May long Distance Race:

The vision is to have an active, physically and mentally healthy society, which promotes individual capabilities and social integration. The mission is to adopt the best practices and means in promoting the practice of sport and physical activities among members of society.
Our club is one of the best examples in the practice of sports while at the same time integrating the different members of the society.
